TS-E 24L lens is manual focus while being bulkier and heavier than 24L. The IQ of TS-E 24 mk I was not on par. The Mk II is apparently improved a lot, but is still more expensive than 24L f/1.4 II. Like you mentioned, its speed is pretty much the same as 24-105.

I was originally considering the 24 f/1.4L as well, but after trying it out at a Canon Live Learning seminar, I'm sooooo glad I didn't get it. Too heavy, too bulky, and too costly for my use. I got the 28 f/1.8 instead and couldn't be happier. The 28 f/1.8 is about half the weight and one third the cost of the 24L. And, it takes 58 mm filters just like my 50 f/1.4 and 85 f/1.8 primes. Unless you need that extra 4 mm reduction of focal length or the extra half stop, the Canon 28 f/1.8 is a good alternative choice.
