Default Reinvented Website!

Hey guys,

I just finished completely re-doing my website. I have updated a bunch of pictures and redesigned the layout and function of the site. I appreciate any and all feedback.

Thanks,
Ryan

I would like to see some type of feedback when I hover a clickable link, be it an image or text. Using a different color would improve that, IMO.

Where are you located and what do you do? I would really like to see that on your home page. I don't like to try and find that info. It's also good for SEO. Which by the way, you really need to read my SEO for the Photographer in my sig.

I dig it, man. Very professional looking. I'm wanting to get my own www.mynamehere.com with a layout very similar to yours, but I don't even know where to begin, I have no HTML or flash experience. Would you give me some advice on this?

Again, great job on the site.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I'll look into the SEO stuff when I get a chance.

As far as advice, Stamp, if you have time I would suggest learning it. It's the best way to have control over what you want your site to look like. Most of how I've learned it has been on here: http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp which is an absolutely incredible resource. I code all mine in Dreamweaver. I used to use notepad, which is completely plausible, but Dreamweaver is much more efficient if you can get it.

Thanks for the info Ryan. Don't have dreamweaver, but it turns out there's some plugins for light room 3 that I might try. They seem to produce some pretty good looking results.

It 'looks' great - really clean and stylish - but it is too hard to access the content in an easy manner, in my opinion. I prefer gallery layouts that let me choose which picture to click, rather than having to go through blindly. But this is just me.

A few things come to mind, although it may not matter much for your needs.

I like to know where a business is located or based out of. Preferrably on the home page.

Your content does not have anything that really provides credibility value. Not even a paragraph about how you proceeded to where you are at professionally.

There is no phone, and some folks gripe about that, but the lack of phone contact makes a lot of sense if people consider how much some photographers travel.

The overall appearance and navigation is very nice.

SEO content is virtually nil, but depending on how you utilize your website, that may not be a big factor. The site definitely has a nice foundation to it.

Good job! Simple, but yet complete. There are enough images to please, but not enough to overwhelm. I may add a telephone number though.
