I was wondering what your experiences are with the Truecolor profiles for the G3?
I got the free non-linear Truecolor profile, but when I apply this most pictures have a quite severe blue/magenta cast. Some info: -Monitor is calibrated (w. spyder) to 6500k. -I use AdobeRGB as colorspace -In PS I assign the truecolor profile to the image (JPG shot with auto white balance). -Later I want to convert to sRGB (the digital printing lab uses that...) I was wondering about the following: -Am I missing something in my setup? There are so many things to consider with colormanagent... -Can these profiles only be used to convert RAW images, or is it OK to use them on JPG's as well?? Thanks, Bart |

Where did you get this free profile? I'm not aware of any free ones for the G3. The one I use is the non-linear G3 true color profile included in Breezebrowser and the results are great. The only thing you have to do after applying this profile is to apply a subtle S curve in Photoshop in increase the contrast a bit.

I got the profile from Breezebrowser (not using that anymore, it is a very good program but don't have the $$ right now...). Well, I assumed it was included as a free sample with BB.
So we're talking about the same profile. I wonder why it is not working for me... Do you apply the profile to JPG's as well? |

I put some examples in my webspace (there is no website yet, sorry...).
http://www.xs4all.nl/~bstolk Color in the 'a' pictures are as from camera, the 'b' pictures use the Truecolor profile. The first two were shot as JPG, number 3 is converted from RAW (with no profile and the Truecolor profile resp.) It's the colorshift I'm puzzled about. In general I think the profile is OK, colours that are more true to the original. But on the other hand the profile seems much too blue and I'd do some colorbalancing. Specially skintones seem to look a bit "unhealthy". What do you think looking at the pictures. |

I just checked your images and this is normal behavior of the profile. What you need to do after applying the profile is to make a subtle S curve adjustment in Photoshop (assuming this is what you use). You can either try to do this on your own or download some preset ones here:

Thanks PFlor for your help! I'll play around with those curves a bit and see.
