i got the latest model 5dc right before the MKII came out and it definitely wasn't $3,200

Isn't a shutter replacement the flat repair rate of $200 from Canon?

the one I am getting is a 2008 model, woot! So not all of them are that old! I do think it's wonderful they have lasted that long tho!

From the serial #, how can you tell what year it was made ?

From what I've read online the following is year vs serial number.

2008: 3xxxxxxx; 2007: 2xxxxxxx; 2006: 1xxxxxxx; 2005: 0xxxxxxx

Oh yea? Went everyday for long evening walk in the christmas holiday. The weather was around -28C degrees all the time, and the mighty 5D worked just fine!!!

Edit: Below pic taken at christmas eve, -28 celsius

Fully charget battery did take allmost 250 pictures in that temp.
