Default Please help to improve this cat portrait

I know the highlights on the right are a little blown out. That needs some fixin'. But I'd like to see what think I could/should improve there.

It's our cat "Stormy" (as named by our back then 9-year old son) in our "outside area" attached to our house, where they can go in/out from the window and hang out in the sun without running away. Took it in the fall of 2009, right after I got my 7D with Kit lens.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Nice picture aside from the blown left side which is blue. I'd try and get rid of the blue tint.
I really like the rim light effect on the ears.

I would also try to brighten up the eyes just a little, they look to be such a pretty color.
