The room was lit only by that small lamp, so I was able to use long shutter speed and the night behind the window turned to that beautiful shade of blue partly because of white balance mismatch between indoors and outdoors and partly because it was almost like that there.

I enjoy revisiting your on-line galleries from time to time to see what's new. This picture has been one of my favorites. The lighting is beautiful and the composition makes the room appear very inviting. I particularly like the contrast of the cool blue light outside the window with the warm, cozy light inside the room.
