Welcome to the Land of Sardins

Fish is the food you'll end up eating when you're in Portugal. You have dozens of varieties, and you can be sure that every city has some very good fish restaurants. This restaurant was an outdoor restaurant (build under a tent in the harbour). The employees had a very professional manner of doing things and there were several grills next to the customers and cooks were very busy preraring the fish as well as they could. When I took this shot I've had my Bass already and wandered around while waiting for others. I like the 'old-fashioned' look of the wide open shots, and that you CAN capture such atmospheres without a tripod, stopping movement. The narrow depth-of-field is no problem because the Bokeh (quality of the unsharpness in photo) is so smooth and gentle with 50 f/1.4.

composition here is good but waiter's face details are not clearly seen. I think a little fill flash is needed for us to clearly see his emotion.

Hey, nice photo. I always struggle with people shots. Did you get the waiter to pose?
