This photo was taken in my friend's living room, a colorful silk scarf was taped onto the wall (it barely covered the background) and I used two bounced flashes, one on camera and one on stand. The colors work well together with the "oldish" look of the shallow depth-of-field and calm pose. This kind of shot is not easy, it never is when you work with people. I think I took about 40 shots to capture the facial expression I was looking for. Esme was a great model, and very photogenic.

This is probably one of the most stunning portraits I have ever seen. From the colours, to the pose, to the aperture that leaves just the top of her eyes and her lips in focus. Wow. I cannot believe this was taken at 1/15.
