Olivier Charlier, Violin

Olivier Charlier is one of the most photogenic artist I've ever seen, and as I was free from Lalo's Spanish Symphony accompaniment (the concerto he was playing with us). Monsieur Charlier is the Professor of the Violin at the Paris Conservatoire (see more info through this link), and played extremely well and with all his heart. I took the G1 and Manfrotto around the hall and shot a lot of photos during rehearsal. The hall was lit with more spotlights than usual because the Finnish Broadcasting company was shooting the concert for digital television material. Digital television system broadcasts will begin this year in Finland and most of our concerts will be there - symphony concerts are good material for a medium with better sound and picture quality. The TV lights helped me two stops in aperture, and so I could have more shots with good exposure and less movement. From lots of shots this was the best, as it displays the proudness, the sensitivity and the concentration of the great violinist, and the blurred hands make the photo alive.
