Vappu, (1st of May) which originally was a political festival, is now a general 'get drunk and have fun' day of all people, and especially students have considered it their own (and biggest) party. Here you see some technical university students who wear a white cap which all students get when they graduate from Finnish Lukio (equivalent of high-school). Many people get all the food and drink to the park and spend all day and and night out. GSM phones are ringing all the time and SMS messages (text messages via GSM - Most Finns' most beloved hobby) are keeping track of friends - everyone is seeking the best place to continue the party. It's usually cold and rainy but it does not matter!
