Warren Deck is the New York Philharmonic's principal tuba player, and he gave master classes for ITEC 2001 students. I went to the classroom (asked for a permission to do so in advance of course), and started shooting from back of the classroom with a flash. After a couple of shots I decided the flash was not appropriate in that moment, so the rest I took with available light (there was one big row of windows to the left) and a Manfrotto Carbon One monopod.
I prefer natural light, no flash system can beat the nature. D30 has a great ISO 400 which I used for this shot - one thing I learned on this four day assignment that don't be afraid to use high ISO.
