Hall With a View

The new concert hall in Las Palmas is located right on the beach and behind the stage there is a vast glass window which has a view to the ocean and sky. When concert begins they somehow dim the glass so that the view does not distract people from viewing the performance. I tried to capture that nice color effect by sampling white balance from the hall and then using that custom balance for this photo. This created that deep tint to the outside sky and you got realistic colors gradually towards inside of the hall. The instrument you see on the left is Gran Cassa which is an instrument which you hear a lot in classical music - it supports rythm with its deep beat, and gives all those funeral matches that 'final touch'. It's hit usually with a very soft largehead stick which can produce thunder-like sounds when played in tremolo.
