Barry Douglas seems to be very quiet a person, but despite his humble and concentrated way to perform (bit like Radu Lupu) the music he produces has inner light, strenght and great vision. He played Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1, and this shot is from rehearsal.

This is an outstanding picture , displaying the intensity and concentration of a master musician engrossed in performance. The pianist in focus against the blurred almost insignificant orchestra intensifies his craggy concentrated engrossed look. A marvellously constructed arrangement full of character.
