Beethoven 4th Is Over

This type of shot is very rare, you don't get a licence to shoot in concert hall on the stage during performance too often. I got the permission because I was a commissioned photographer for the event, and because I am a professional musician myself. One of the benefits of being a musician-photographer is that I know how the pieces go (because I've played them with same conductor often), and this gives you the idea when critical moments occur in time (when there is not too much movement, and when you can take the photo without disturbing the moment) The moment captured here is a less than half a second before the the audience starts to applause. Jukka-Pekka Saraste was conducting the Finnish Chamber Orchestra in Tammisaari church and they were playing Beethoven's 4th Symphony here. I tried to prefocus and be ready for the moment, and you really had to take care of the focus - at aperture 1.6 you barely can fit the conductor to the focus plane.
