Radu Lupu is one of the greatest pianists of our time, and softness and almost meditative concentration are characteristics to his performances. Here he is at Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra rehearsal. I don't want to disturb people with flash even in rehearsal, so I took my most sensitive lens and walked right by him - I don't even know if he was aware of me taking this photo - I think he was 'out of this world' with his piano.

Excellent picture of a highly reclusive person. Catches his seriousness well.

f2.5 1/40 ! Wow! Pekka you must have a grip like a steel tripod. This is crystal clear. If I did this - it would be a fuzzy foto! Great pic.

Lupu has a habit of getting very nervous before performances. Once he was asked if he was doing ok...he said he was fine, but couldn't decide if he should p#ss or cr@p his pants. A great moment in music history.
