Contacting the store you bought it from might be a good start? No?

I bought it online at US1CAMERA and their policy says any product defects will be handled by manufacturer.:(

I pulled up a 7D at the sellers site and it's listed as "Import Model". Did you recieve an Import Model?

From US1CAMERA's blurb on Import Model....
"USA items are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty that lets you obtain service at a manufacturer-authorized center during the warranty period. Imported items are covered by a US1photo.com for 1-Year Parts/90-Days Labor, and it would have to be returned to US1photo.com for the warranty service and will be sent by US1photo.com to a repair center."

Megapixels and high ISO are a digital photographers heroin. Once you have a little, you just want more and more. It doesn't stop until your bank account is run dry.

To send it back to Canon for repair, go to their website and fill out a repair request. They will provide instructions on sending the camera back. Basically you send the camera body minus strap and memory card.

No I believe the problem might be due to over heat damage, after firmware update, this also happened to another memeber on the vdslr forums
