I checked out a couple third-party grips, but it seems they're all made of plastic, while the Canon grip is magnesium.

I still haven't bought either one, though.

Definitely an admirer. If anyone has a 5D classic laying around they don't use I'm trying to trade my T1i w/ grip and some extras for one.

Tempting, but.....


5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

So the mirror came "un-glued" yesterday...took it to the shop today to be sent back to Canon. I figured since it had 123,000 clicks we should go ahead and replace the shutter! :)
