Try it, while we get a few cold beers and some popcorn to enjoy this...

This is starting to remind me of the Camera Kings thread. ;)

Heh I never ordered one. I'm just weighing the options. If i can get a refurbished model on Adorama for a little over $1100 (BCB) it's probably not worth the chance of ordering from sites like this.

Just remember to weigh in the fact that once you place an order, then deal with the hours of headaches of up-sell, and the subsequent cancellation of your order (either you opening a dispute or the vendor actually giving you the refund), you will want to cancel your credit card and have a new one issued. Unless you have an option to generate a one-time card number...

Wake up from you dream. How in the world are you going to get a refurbish 5D2 from Adorama for $1100 with BCB? If you feel that it's worth the risk to order from those kind of sites then go ahead. While you are at it buy 50 of them because you could make a ton of money simply by turning it around and sell them new for $2100 here. Like you said what's the worst that could happen?

Where did you get that $1100 figure from? A few months ago when they had a quantity of 5Dcs refurbished they were $1700 and it's a pretty sure bet refurbished 5D2s would be over $2000.

If you use Bing/MR on eBay you can get a brand new version for under $2100. This is when Bing comes back on eBay. Also, using Bing shopping you can get 10% cashback from Adorama, that would make it $2250.

A friend of mine ordered a Nikon D80 from an outfit like your place OP. He said he would just wait for it to show up. A month later it never came and he cancelled the order. I told him to cancel his credit card as well.

What can go wrong? Let's see. You get your identity stolen. Random stuff gets charged to your credit card. You spend hours on the phone with the police, credit card companies, vendors over all of this. For what? To save a couple hundred bucks. And forbid you use an American Express card. Their theft division is asleep. They allowed charges to go thru on an Amex Blue card that I never activated. Stupid bunch of idiots tried to collect on me twice even. Amex is a waste.

So I'll tell you what. I'll save you time and effort and order it for you. Please PM me your info. I'll post it here in this thread so that everyone can order themselves a camea too.

Thanks!

The current best deal from a Canon USA authorized dealer is $2224.96 from The Imaging World. This reflects 11% cash back.
