On the subject of bright yellow oil seed, I took a couple of my main model by some today. It really is a fantastic backdrop and I'm certainly going to be going down to the fields again. The second photo is just like the one above.... even has dandelions in the foreground! Just looking at the second in a bit more detail - wish I had used a smaller apperture to get the dandelions in focus..... It's hard to think when you are trying to manage a wild 2 year old!

I really like the second shot! Has a bit of a surreal feel to it with those wild yellow colors and the nice sky in the background!

Good stuff!

Cheers.

David, they were taken at Descanso Gardens here in SoCal (20 miles east of Los Angeles)... Do a google search for more info... And I could definately relate to your satisfaction with the 1Ds2 with regards to weddings... Great tool to use... Much better, too, when it's attached to great glass... Double thumbs-up!!!

Thanks for the info. Need to head out there as I did the Carlsbad flower fields and the Huntington Library.

I do the floating effect a couple of different ways.

One is by physically propping up the item in my light box and then cloning out the prop and the other way is to just carefully cut out the subject from the original shot and create a new background with a gradient layer in Photoshop and add in shadows and toning from within the program as well...it depends mostly on the size of the subject as to how I go about getting the effect I'm after.

Cheers!

Hello fellow 1Ds II enthusiasts,

I just revamped my website. The concept is that it's "the other side of the business card" as my business card plays the portal for clients to visit my site. I'll post pictures of my business cards so that people here can get the better understanding of the full concept.

Anyway, it looks rather plain right now and the background graphic is subject to change, but not the business card appearance -- just the surrounding graphics as you see them. I also plan on adding pictures to accentuate visually pages like the 'About,' 'Services,' 'Prices,' and of course, the 'Weblog'.

Let me know what you think of the functionality of the galleries as well. Thanks guys.

I like the clean, uncluttered style of this one much better then the previous template but the links to your galleries and the other two radio buttons don't open up and link to anything? Have you built and populated a gallery or are we just talking about the main page here?

Cheers!

The 'Portfolio' section is not populated and is a gallery. 'Pleasure' is the gallery that is somewhat populated. The 'Contact' procedure is something I thought came out nicely aesthetically speaking.

Thanks for the positive remarks. :)
