I would try:
Canon 35 f/1.4 - $1400
Canon 85 f/1.8 - $400
Canon 10-22 - $700
Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS - $1900
Canon 24-105 - $1050

I went over budget....so I think I would buy used. :)

For a 1.6x APS-C

Sigma 50/1.4 - $450?
Canon 17-55 - $1000
Tokina 11-16 - $600
Canon 70-200 F/2.8L IS MK II - $2500

And that leaves room for....

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 OR Canon 28mm f/1.8 OR Canon 85mm f/1.8

I'll choose the middle option because thats what I have.

Oh wait 3/5 of these lenses I already own. And the 55-250 and 50/1.8 that I have are really just cheap options while I save for the awesome versions of them :D

Canon 7D & Rebel T1i: Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 IS, Canon 55-250mm IS, Canon 28 f/1.8, Speedlite 580EX II, Speedlite 430EX II

Here are the lenses that I own:
canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM $800
tamron SP AF 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II $400
sigma Sigma 70-200mm 1:2.8 EX DG Apo Macro HSM II $900
canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM $1900

Ironically, the lens I obsess over is the Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 L Prime which is about the same price as all of the others combined.

I notice I have the exact same answer as you. :-) How do you like your 70-200? Is it truly in your top or would you trade it for an 85L II, for instance?

24L1.4II, 85L1.2II, 200L2.8 .... and EF25II + EF12II

and keep money to buy a 300L2.8IS and 14L2.8II later...

as walkaround I use 24L1.4II + 85L1.2II or 135L2.8 + Zuiko 500Reflex. that's a perfect combo which feet in pockets and can be used for candid without anoying people ..
I won't imagine walking with 70-200L2.8II in a street ..
