Jethro970, here's some examples of what I'm talking about.

Mine's like this: badsoft down the right-hand side at 15mm. Luckily I've only had it for a day. Back in the box you go... I'll get a replacement arranged tomorrow.

This lens works pretty good from a moving vehicle too. ;)

Shot this out the front windshield while zippin' down I-75 (wife was driving).

Wish I had time to shoot more...in work crunch mode. :) Yesterday I tried to do some more IR with a weaker filter. Again heavily PP:

So I went to Calumet photo chicago today to try out this lens in person before making the final decision. budget is about 600 give or take so with the new rebate out for this it falls right in the range. I narrowed my options down with this

I want FTM so true USM
IS would be nice
weather seal would be nice but not necessary
range, i need wider than 18

so i was thinking the 17-40L cuase it was more in the price range (before the rebate) and now this, the build was very impressive, focusing was lightning quick, 15mm f*cking rules vs. 18 or 17, and IS?!?! and all the way to 85?!? this is hands down the best walkaround haha I cant wait to order it!
