From what I understand the Kenko Pro 1 is the same as Hoya.I have three Kenko pro 1(two UV and 1
CPL)and would rec. them. The CPL is quite thin so sometimes removing it can be tricky.I grip it with a rubber band.

Make sure you do get a CPL and not a PL (as I did by mistake) only to find that the 70-200 2.8 wouldn't auto focus with it - though the 17-55 2.8 and 24-105 did!
I had no idea why it didn't work - but found the answer here of course. (not sure why only the 70-200 didn't work while the others did though)

Hoya Pro 1D 77mm is $110 on the website www.2filter.com (external link) Awesome place to buy from online and the store is in New Hampshire. Got lots of my filters from them.

B+W F-Pro MRC circular polarizer...don't spend the extra money on the slim version (your lenses don't require one). B+W filters are easy to clean and won't come apart unexpectedly as is the case with certain Hoya filters (can't recall specifically which one, but that's enough to keep me sticking with B+W). There are several threads on that very topic in this forum if you care to search them out.

Slightly more than $100, but pretty much well worth it. Here's a link...many people here (myself included) get their filters from this dealer. Only downside is that the dealer is in Hong Kong and delivery to US will take 7-10 days. So, if you're in a hurry...

That site is great, I have a question though, I have the kit lens and the nifty fifty, if you guys were to buy a CPL, for which one would you get it? I was thinking I get some zoom with the kit, but the 50 can compensate for light loss with the lower stops..any suggestions?

I personally like the Hoya Pro1 CP.

I've got one in 67 and 77 and use step down rings to fit my other lenses.

Yes I used a 52-58mm step down (or is it step up - I don't remember) ring adapter with my 58mm Kenko Hoya 1 Pro and Nifty Fifty.
