Hello,

I just bought Canon 5D Mark II camera and I found this fault (?) while recording indoors. room lightened with fluorescent lamps as you normally find in gyms. in the second part of this clip you can see green stripes appearing. they are not visible when taking still photographs and with different light conditions while recording videos. it seems to only appear with this sort of light.

this is link to the video with the stripes visible:

what would you suggest to do?

thanks

Probably cycling lights .. these may not show up at the shutter speeds used taking still photos.

Fluorescent lights flicker. If the AC frequency of your power is 60Hz, they flicker 120 times per second (the bottom half of the AC wave is inverted), so you would not want to use shutter speeds which are fractions of 120, ie 1/60th. You are probably best using a shutter speed of 1/40, 1/50 or else some of the frames will include dark spots where the light was in the process of flickering off.
