Paolo,

Depth of field and sharpness are outstanding with that new lens. Very nice.

Thank you Zethar but I've had this lens for over a year now. I just hadn't found subjects worth using on until now. ;)

Well well well

Price continues to drop in the UK.

Down from £4189 a week or so ago to £4069

at WEX http://www.warehouseexpress.com …Brand=37&Range=1990#first (external link)

I can't remember who it was who said it, but a UK POTN member said earlier that he had it on good authority that it would be £3500 by the summer.

If it drops £100 per month then he'll be correct.

Don't really care who tests the 1D MK4 now, it is all ready proven in my eyes, in fact not really heard a bad word about it anywhere, it is a great upgrade, ok originally expensive, but what is not when in demand and new, prices all ready dropped big time and will drop more.

power_play21 wrote in post #10074523 (external link)
where did you see the prices drop? here in the us its been 4999 for as long as i can remember.

The MKIV has indeed dropped to just over £3,500 by the summer currently at £3,700 being the cheapest in the UK at the moment.

http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod1207.html (external link) This website is very good at tracking the price of gear within you the UK.

Do we think the MKIV will hit £2k ish by the end of the year? If so I'll buy one then.

Black Vault, not sure it will drop that much just yet, maybe close to £2k + VAT.
I doubt it will ever drop as low as the 1D MK3 was selling in the end New, everything is more expensive now anyhow.

Reckon it's still to new still by the end of the year to have dropped to that price? Yeah your right about the price of things nowadays :(

I'd be amazed if the 1D4 drops to anything like £2k + VAT, not until the Mk5 comes out. £2.5k+ would be closer to the mark, and that won't be for a while. For the time being £3k is an unattainable goal.

Can't see Mark IVs dropping that far. According to AP Magazine, even Mark IIIs used are worth £1,900

Why are the Brit's always jumping in talking about price? Less talk, more pictures. The price ain't gonna drop that far in that period of time.
