thank you, I used 24-105 exclusively for that day. You cant beat its versatility.

I just bought a new 5D2, and tested the raw files. Whenever I choose raw only mode, i can download the CR2 file to my computer. But when i chose Raw+M, both files become jpeg, anyone know about this issue? I think i made such a dumb mistake to the point where i can't recognize what's wrong with it :). I transfer the file with the usb cable, if it's helping.

Lucky you! I've still got about 30 hours to wait. :p

the shutter count life is only applicable if you shot using the shutter button, you can shoot more if you use a remote control shutter release. So if you want to extend the life of the shutter buy a remote control or use a computer to release the shutter. :-)
I should not worry much about shutter count enjoy your camera.

Umm... not buying it... Maybe that'll extend the life of the shutter button, same as using the shutter button on a grip, but I highly doubt it has any effect on the actual shutter mechanism itself.

Agreed, great photos and lens :)

What method are you using to make the final edits look the way they do? Obviously they are not just simple edits; are you duplicating layers and changing each drastically or something else non-traditional? Are they simply HDRs with possibly more than 3 exposures?

I always see so many cool final edits of photos and never know how the shooter got them that way from SOOC :/

Guts - Awesome shot and I like the post work!

thegfxman - Nice shots! I especially like the third! Great work.

I just did some photos for my friend's little daughter... It was definitely a change of pace, but let me know what you think!

Looks way better large & on white: http://bighugelabs.com …98979&bg=white&size=large (external link)

Thanks wamguy! Excellent photos above of your friend's daughter. Beautiful bokeh in the trees @ f/2.0 and nice poses! I've been wanting to replace my nifty fifty with this lens lately...I just might!

Sigmalux + 5D2 is still a great combo. love it! focus seem good on my copy (the slight unsharpness of the first picture is wanted) both are at f1.4 if I remember corectly.

I had been wanting to try a technique I saw in the above user's Flickr Photostream (freelensing). It reminded me to try (thanks!) it so I finally did!

The thing that bothers me is that I often see photos with a similar effect/look to them without doing this freelense technique...I still wonder how they get it in post processing other than hitting a lucky light flare or something...

SOOC besides grain

^Nice shots Mastermarek, I love the Subie.

Do anything special for the processing or just the usual in LR/PS?

thanx mate!
lets see, I tried to recover as much detail in the highlights as possible. Then I raised contrast to 100%, adjusted black levels and fill. Then adjusted colors. Went crazy here with saturation. lol ^^ Thats just in ACR. Later in CS4 I did curves, levels, sharpening, colors again, crop.

EDIT:
I usually try to expose for the sky. Getting that blue sky later in post looks fake and cheese. Here is my fake blue sky ^^
