this was done with a single bare speedlight with 1/4 CTO Gel triggered by radio poppers in ETTL..

i had the camera set to manual:

1/2000
F2.5
ISO 50

and the bare speed light was enough to fill... you can see the shadow under bob's arm for ideas where the light was coming from.. camera left..

the sunny shots will look dark if you don't use a speed light to fill..

Hi everyone,

I have a simple and honest question.
Many of you post the settings used and i see quite many of you use very high shutter speeds.
That means of course, you were using high speed sync.
I have a Canon 430ex II, and im wondering whats the guide number when using high speed sync?
Thanks in advance and sorry if im sounding like a total noob.!
