Who passed away one year ago today on June 1st 2009 and took me to my 1st ever motor race 40 years ago at Mosport and stuck a camera in my hand 35 years ago.

I think he has been directing the lighting crew over in turn 3 at my home track this season.

This chokes me up. My "Pop" is 77 and I am fortunate to still have him. I turned down a free trip to Germany because I promised to take him to Talledega Fall of 2007. I could not have lived with myself if we never got that chance because I went to Germany. We had an awesome 2 days........

I do not look forward to the day you experienced one year ago and feel for you..... It can't be easy.........

The hardest part of it all was the funeral service at the church, as that was where I photographed my sisters baptism when I was 9 years old, with a 35mm Pentax Spotmatic on slide film, and I remember dad was pretty proud of me. And next door was the school I first attended, and all I could see in my mind was the shot he had taken of me on my 1st day there wearing a red jacket and standing in front of his 1966 Pontiac.

One thing we never did much of was end up in photos together, since it was always him or I behind the lens. So if you have children, get some photos of you with them.........someday they will thank you for it.

Classic advise and one of the main reasons I am into photography. Parents, children, and the grandchildren.
