Thanks for the advice. Getting the images crisp is one of the many major problems I seem to be having at the moment.

From what I've read in these forums it's just a matter of practice practice practice. At least it's good fun

I was trying boats last weekend at 1/100 down to 1/40. The added difficulty with boats is that if the water is choppy, they'll bounce, too, which will add undesired motion blur.

In some cases if you're shooting cars, one wheel design may blur out better than another. I had shots where the background was sufficiently blurred, but the wheels still looked too frozen, so I slowed the shutter even more.

I like this one - panning that close is not easy - I've done it at 24mm with my Mk III -and its hard - but 10mm on a 40D...........

I did crop the image down, but thanks, it took a couple of attempts to nail one.

Here is one more.

Got a few from the Miller SBK round that was here this past weekend. I actually managed to get a great shot at 1/60...............I just need to find it. These were all at 1/160, except for the last one. Exif is intact

SBK race at Miller
All shot in raw, but untouched, except for the last pic, which I attempted to sharpen. I'm lazy
