We ended up not stopping in Erie, but pushing on through to Buffalo for the night. Looked at the falls the next morning, then on to Burlington. I LOVE Vermont. Beautiful mountains, farms, small villages. Burlington is probably the most enjoyable town I've ever visited. I could easily (if I had money) spend a few weeks there vacationing. And if I had lots of the aforementioned elusive money, I would enjoy moving there to retire someday.

Hello threadies.

Stopping by to say hello. We are getting closer to Nichole's graduation. She walks on the 15th. Things have been very busy trying to get ready. I am so glad we are not throwing her a party with everything else that is going on.

I hope everyone is doing well. I will catch up later tonight.

I'm not into winter sports, but it makes for beautiful scenery. I don't like snow around here, the roads aren't maintained very well when it gets deep. My son was in Burlington on a snowy weekend several winters ago, and he says the roads were very well maintained. Candi and I are visiting them for four days the over the first weekend in October. We hope to catch the fall colors in their prime and miss an early winter storm.:D

G'MAE all. Aiden and CJ arrived safe and sound last night. Had a great afternoon at my brother's yesterday. He had cleaned and repaired our dad's 30-06, which is mine. So it was time to sight in the scope...been awhile since I shot...I now have "scope nose". It got me pretty good, not broken, but bruised and sliced pretty good. Good news is it is now sighted in.:D

Since all is quiet at the moment, think I'll get some prep work done for the doings this afternoon before the A-man awakens and talks my ear off. Can't believe how his conversations have matured in 5 months. *sigh* being a Grammy is the bestest.:D

Hi Bucky, have a nice visit. You look tough and cute all at the same time when bleeding from the face, just saying.

A case of sods law last night, I was in a copses at the edge of a field enjoying the late afternoon early evening light and waiting for some pigeons to come over and about 500 yards away I watched a very large Buzzard (external link) rising on a thermal, he broke out of the thermal and started quartering the field in front of me for about 10 minutes, he then departed to be replaced by a much smaller buzzard doing exactly the same thing until three crows started mobbing him and driving him off.

I would have swapped my shotgun for a camera in a flash.

I had to look up sods law. Sounds nice Neil.

G'mae, threadfolk.

It's goin to hit 107º here today and tomorrow, and 108º on Monday. Guess who's glad he'll be locked in his office doing property management for the next 4 days.

Had trouble sleeping last night, so got up bright and early and built us a batch of chicken and biscuits. It will go into the oven in a couple hours, and I'm really looking forward to lunch. It's an internet recipe from Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa), and it looks pretty good. For once, I followed the recipe to the letter, so if we don't like it, we have someone else to blame.

Have a good weekend. I probably won't be on much as this is my busy time.

Yum, stop in as you can.

I am so haapy to finally have some blue skies. Nichole's school is having a PowWow today and she helped design the tshirt for it so they are presenting her with a gift at the opening ceremony this evening.

You had to mention VooDoo donuts! I found out one of our little local coffee shops gets a fresh delivery from them everyday so I am going to have to stop by and see what they have.

Oh, I hadn't even considered that coffee shops might carry them. I'm going to call them and find the nearest outlet!:D:D

No blue skies here all 18% gray. It's been on and off rain. Pours like a tropical monsoon, then suddenly stops.
