The challenge this week is "Slicing through DOF"

I would like to give you a difficult challenge for youre autofocus. The most difficult focus challenge is to get something moving in youre direction sharp.

So the task is to get a picture sharp as a knife of a object moving towards you.

The object has to move, and the direction is towards you. Not moving from left to right, or right to left, not away from you, not upwards or downwards, but towards you. I think this should be clear now.:p I have made the starting day, today. So all of you have three extra days to get a good shot.

Have fun shooting!!!

Submissions end Sunday June 6th at 11:59pm est (unless a mod changes it) (you can check the time here: java based clock))

Submissions will be open to anyone with a Digital Rebel Camera (Rebel/300d, XT/350d, XTi/400d, XS/1000d, XSi/450d, T1i/500d, T2i/550d)

Rules:
*Must be shot with Canon Rebel
*Must be shot during this time frame, May 27th - June 6th
*Must provide Exif data
*Only one pic per person
*Submissions must be posted in this thread by June 6th at 11:59pm est (unless a mod changes it)
*Voting will begin June 8th and go through June 10th and is open to anyone on the forum.
*Winner will choose topic for the following week

For any discussions please use the main thread here:
https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=671127

Have fun !!!!!

Well then, let me try to get things rolling here ;). Here is my entry which I feel fits the title very well. My neighbors daughter playing on the slip and slide. Had a lot of fun with this trying to capture the subject and freeze the water drops...very challenging indeed.

I know I won't have another chance before the 6th so hopefully this is close enough. These guys are moving near 30 mph, it was dark and racing was under the lights. DOF and some motion blur.

This time ckort get my vote. Youre picture is fulfilling the challenge in a perfect way.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to post anything this time. :(

Ckort captures the challenge perfectly and could have also won the last challenge, it captured fun too! Great expression. As someone who was a kid when slip & slide was invented it brings back memories.

Thanks everyone for the votes! Had a lot of fun with this one ;)

I think I have a challenge that will inspire our creativity, and imagination. For the next challenge, I would like to see what we all can do with "Reflections". I was playing around with this down at a local lake on my boat a few weeks ago and I was amazed at what looked cool reflecting off the water. But this is a fairly broad subject that is not limited to reflections off water. So lets have some fun with this and hopefully get a few more participants ;). I think I'll go 2 weeks on this one just to give everyone more time and hopefully allow a few more people to join the fun...Good luck everyone!

I'll have the new thread up soon.
