There are some really great photos - too many too mention, though the 3751 pan sticks out, as do the photos of C&O #614. Good to see her in steam, then.

Here is something you don't see everday. Instead of the usual Amtrak F-59PHI or P-42, the westbound Capitol Corridor is headed up by a BNSF C-44-9W accelerating out of the Martinez CA depot.

Is the car behind #4178 a control cab? If so perhaps there is a more traditional Amtrak locomotive on the other end of the train providing those services. This would make the train actually running in reverse, but giving the crew the advantages of a full cab.

That looks to be the case. The forward facing window is a bit of a giveaway.

The HEP was an F-59PHI at the tail end of the train. I'm guessing it was broken as far as motive power was concerned.
