Nice shots. I would love to go there some time. If not to bet or shoot, but just watch horses. #2 is very cool. Great timing. To really nitpik #3 may be a hair underexposed.

Thanks! Ya I noticed number 3 as I was uploading it last night and never got a chance to lighten it up. And Churchill Downs is a great place!

Jmurph, those are some of the sharpest racing shots I've seen on here. With #2, you've caught the classic "all hooves off the ground" shot, but it's obscured by your signature. I'd definitely move that sig elsewhere and show off that capture:)

Good set of images, tell a nice 'race day' story. Do you know which race that jockey was in, he rode horse #7 by the look of it. If you can get hold of a race card/guide you should be able to work it out from the time in your exif file (if the clock in your camera is accurate).

Is that Calvin Borel jockey of Mine that Bird in last years Kentucky Derby?

You are correct my friend! He was also the jockey on super saver this year in the Derby and also won the belmont! Great guy and great jockey!
