Well, one more game and the River Bandits can go home champions for 2010 season. If they lose Saturday morning, they play one more game as it is as a double elimination playoff.

They have not played since last Saturday when these photos where taken. It was hot, humid and they were complaining about the heat. I don't ever remember complaining about it being hot whenever I played as a young kid, I was just happy to be playing.

Anyways, the Bandits went down 4-0 in the first. Due to lazy uninspired play. Then gave up 3 moire in the next frame. 7-0 heading into the third, defense came up big with big plays and the Bandits hold the Iron Pigs scoreless.

Bandits get 2 on, the batter hits a pop up. Catch is made. My son, takes off from second, goes back and it tagged out. 2nd basemen throws to first and gets the runner. TRIPLE PLAY. I am ready to kill my kid but keep my mouth shut while the coach coaches him.

Next frame, Iron Pigs are shut out again by great Bandit defense. Bottom of the fourth, we get 3 back. Defense shuts them down again. Bottom of the fifth, we get one again. 7-4 going into the 6th.

Defense plays shut down defense again and we bat in the bottom of the 6th and last inning. We have not come from behind all year. Well they did today.

2 singles, an out at third. a big double to center field scores 2. A single and we have 1st and 3rd, one out. Score is now 7-6. A double to left center scores one and we have 2nd & third again. One out. Score is 7-7.

Double to right field scores thew winning run. Great game. Defense was excellent and the team finally came from behind to play in the finals. The kids were so happy after the game and lucky. But they did not quit. They overcame the heat and their sluggishness to beat a good Iron Pigs team.

Find out who we play after tonights game.

The bad news, I am playing a golf tournament for an Uncle who passed away. The game is at 10 AM and we tee off at 8 AM. I cannot cancel out the golf and I am extremely disappointed that I am going to miss this game and I will not be able to shoot it for the team. This is a major disappointment for and the coaches as I have been shooting the team all season long.

If anyone in the South Jersey area wants to help me out and shoot the game for me, I would be greatly appreciative. Send me a PM. If no one can as this is quite last minute, I understand.

There were so many changes this week with the rain and other games being rescheduled, I did not have final game time until just before submitting this post.

Enjoy the photos and I hope you enjoyed my narrative. And I hope it was not too boring.

Let me know what you think.

Scott

Nice sharp images with some good expressions! I always amazes me that the kids are never looking at the ball when they are swinging at it.....eyes are almost always more toward the pitcher...wonder why??

Scottyr33, I noticed that was going to be an issue when I saw them setting up their umbrella before the game. I was wondering how long it would take before someone commented on it.

Too funny, you guys never miss anything..........bw!

Distracting or attracting? Either way, I wish the OP's lens had backfocused by about 10 feet :)
