Try Costco, I have a friend that's getting pretty amazing huge prints from them at two of their Seattle stores. Otherwise I've found it's more about where can you find someone that makes really good huge prints, I hate that feeling when I send away foe a print and then dissapointed when I finally ge it.

Appreciate that, but they have not rolled out the larger prints in all markets. They are only doing 24x36 is test markets in TX and CA. 20x30 is the limit in the rest of the stores and online. Sams Club's the same way.

Have you checked FedEx/Kinkos? I've never used them but their stuff doesn't look "terrible" from what I've seen, at least for proofs.

Thanks, Tony. No, didn't think of them. Good idea because they're local. I am, and always will be hinky about uploading files to online printers. I've had a bad experience in the past.

FedEx/Kinkos - 24x36 $72 onsite on a HP (and the most irritating telephone menu system I have run across in a long time).

No kidding, $72? Yikes -- scratch them for "proofing" large prints! I'd thought about trying them for actual posters, but not at those prices. I have one about 3 blocks from my house, had been in there a couple times for other things but never really investigated.

Maybe you should try a local wide format print service.
There gotta be one somewhere in NC.

Adorama has 24x36 on Lustre paper for about $25. If you are a little flexible on exact size, they have 20x30s on sale for $10 right now.

Thank, Karl. I appreciate that. Funny you should mention GS. I was looking at them seriously a number of months back but something got in the way and I never sent anything. If you have had anything done by them, I would value your feedback - quality, cust. service, color/exposure accuracy, etc. Thanks.

Well, I appreciate that. But in the OP it mentions it's a proof. I don't think that giving customers metallic proofs would be advisable. ;)
