I'm probably the worst guy to buy stuff because I have major buyer's remorse right after. However, with all camera gear, I've always held on to stuff... except for the 50D which I sold off without even opening the box (for a profit).

But anyway, Slickdeals has taught me that if you find a great deal, buy first, ask questions later. Terrible philosophy.

With the 50D I decided to sell it off before I could hunker down and buy me a CF card, but I did it this time with a CF card on the 7D. Something says I might keep it. Uh oh.

I know I'll love it though... no question. LOL.

Now the question is whether I'll be joining the "My 7D sucks. I can't get sharp pictures compared to my ______" crowd or the "omg i'm so happy I creamed my pants" crowd.....

If you read through the manual and threads on here about the 7D, you'll probably be in the second crowd. B&H vids are great too.

I just pulled the trigger as well, just switched my 40D out for the 7D (Showed up in the mail yesterday) loving it so far! Just need to read through the manual and figure all the new stuff out (Mainly the new AF system so I don't need to join the "my 7D doesn't take sharp pictures" crowd) haha

Good Luck! I just tried two of them in a row, one from B&H, the other from Best Buy. BOTH of them had problems in servo mode. I am NOT a newbie, having shot with an XT, 30D, 50D, 5D, 5DMarkII and 1D3, all successfully. The 7D's I used simply crashed and burned in servo mode. Very frustrating, particularly when you see what the camera can do in one-shot, so much detail and resolution it's amazing. I viewed all the canon videos, read the manual, shot in each and every form of AF mode (except letting the camera do it for me) and keeper rate in servo mode was less than 50%. The subject matter wasn't that complicated either, shooting my grandson going full tilt boogie on his bike, and jumping into the pool. Both cases, he filled at least 25% of the viewfinder, and viewing the shots in DPP showed focus lock exactly where it should be, but pictures still fuzzy.

I have no doubt there are 7D's out there that perform rock solid, I was just not lucky enough to find one. I absolutely love the feature set on the 7D, and hope in a few weeks or months to try again.

If you start having buyer's remorse then put the 7D in high speed continuous mode and start firing off at 8fps. Buyer's remorse will go away............
