I have a 7D and have primarily shot crop except the 3 days I had a 5D2. I found a used 5Dc for $700. I'm tempted to buy it and I know if I don't "like" it I can sell it.

1. Does anyone have any suggestions, notes, etc on what to look for prior to purchase?

2. Does anyone think this makes sense? I know it's good to have a full-frame, but would I see any real advantage, aside from proper focal/frame for each lens?

I'm afraid it's a bad choice because I might hold onto it for the wrong reasons..
Logically, people who have 5Dc's buy the 7D not vice-a-versa right?

For 700 clams, you can test drive it and in a worst case scenario, make money when reselling it.

700 is a really good price, you could probably flip it for 1000-1100 if it's in somewhat decent condition

1. Does it work? Turn it on, etc, take pics, upload to a computer if you can bring one.

2. Does it make sense to have a 5D and a 7D, yes, infact I do myself...

Both are great cameras, but have different uses. I went from the 5D to 7D because I needed the better AF and I wanted video capabilities.

I had a 7D and bought a 5Dc and love the combo. But now I find myself shooting with the 5D 80% of the time..

When do you find yourself using the 7D? I just feel a little silly with more money in the 7D but using it less yknow?

Sell it if you find yourself using the 5D more and use that money for other things like glass. :)

Oh I've never shot any of those :( I should really invest in a 70-200.

Funny, I find myself using the 7D more. Different strokes for different folks!
