the best so far - my 60mm f/2.8 macro, it's small, light, not too expensive, incredibly sharp with nice colours, bokeh and contrast and very versatile - anything from macro to portraits to landscapes. One very fun lens, that I'm very happy with :)

+1 for the 60mm EF-s lens

Sharp on the subject and fabulous bokeh.

I have few amazing lenses but my "best" has to be the 17-40. It's not the sharpest, not so great indoor, weak corners for landscapes but somehow it never fails to deliver. Despite being a prime sort of guy I can't see ever selling this beauty.

My favorite lens to shoot is the 100-400,so I guess it's "best" by default.

The most useful is my Tamron 18-270, a perfect all-inclusive for my trips.
The best is probably 100mm 2.8 IS Macro

Considering my Sigma 30 1.4 is the longest surviving lens in my bag, I would have to go with that it. It really is an amazing lens. I do have the 135L on it's way, so I reserve the right to change my mind immediately after getting it! :D

70-200 f/4 IS. Amazing lens in every respect. Close second: Canon 60 mm macro.

Favorite - 50L. Love the colors, contrast, bokeh, you name it. Focus shift be damned.

Most used - 17-55. Versatile range on a crop, constant 2.8 appy, great image quality overall.

This really so much depends on the lens category... I love wildlife photography and my 100-400 arms me with the tool I have waited for years! My Tamron 28-75 is my current kit lens & is super sharp - so much so that when I compare results from my 18-55 IS (my previous kit lens) I am astonished I ever thought the latter was good! Recently got into macro photography and the Canon 100mm macro is letting me see details I never knew existed!

But to stop talking and summarize, 100-400L for its versatility in the field. It might change when I can finally afford the 300mm f2.8 IS or 500mm f4L... :-|

My first L, 70-200 F4 IS created such an impression in sharpness, colour and everything else, that the greatness of both the 100 mm F2.8 macro and the 24-70 2.8 which I bought later just goes unnoticed or just could not equal that initial feel ..!! I was then using the Rebel and now all these lenses decorate my 5D Mk2.
