Priced about right

Here is what I think happened: The 7D had the 50D pricing on it. It is very easy to make a simple data entry error for any business. I don't think it is a scam based on the sellers ratings.

It is VERY possible that my credit card will not get charged if the error is caught. I'm crossing my fingers that it slips by the shipper.

That happened to me when I tried to buy a new 20D (which was priced for what the 350D was new, back in 2005) through one of these amazon listed vendors. Didn't know it was a scam until I got the message about them having issues getting paid. Contacted amazon.com and the order was cancelled/payment refunded.

Happened to me on one of those scam sites once. It was only once, then I learned about all these scams and I just dont believe low prices anymore. its either broken, not real, a scam, or a different item. I have now settled to just saving up a bit longer and getting an new item at a reputable store. Although I do some trading, seeling and buying here also, POTN is a great resourse for used items.

Oh, I hate it when I see these threads. The OP is so excited to get a deal just to find out it was too good to be true. With anything Canon, if the price is too good, it's usually wrong or a scam. It's just because the gear is so stable in the resale prices, anything out of the ordinary usually is not right. Keep us posted on what you do.

Definitely keep us posted, I am curious to see how this will turn out.

Amazing deal does happen sometimes on amazon. Just one month ago, i bought a refurbished US model 5d mark II from an amazon vendor for $2050. Came out, this wasn't exactly a refurbished one but a brand new one separated from the kit package. somehow, the vendor was able to sell the 24-105 at a good price and so the 5d mk2 becomes an open box item.

of course, somebody can come up to say that they got a deal here and there on a brand new one with mr.rebate + bing for under the price i bought, but consider the place where i live that i can't use bing and some are still selling theirs at $2100+ for a used one with 5000+ actuation, i say i still manage pretty good.

Point is, look out for those great rating vendors, sometimes good deal does happen~

but isn't there a possibility that you end up with nothing AND are out that $849?
