All Canon lenses i've bought have been excellent, but something that is truly unique is the MP-E macro. I shoot with it most.

A great question,

I really cannot decide whether the 50mm F1.2L beats my 85mm ii F1.2L - or vice versa!?!
If you have to twist my arm just a bit further - then ok I prefer the 85mm ii F1.2L (only because it hurts)

I love all my lenses, especially 50L, but the one that has been with me the longest is 35L. It's reliable, fast, sharp even at f/1.4, focuses pretty close and I really enjoy the focal length, so I guess that is the best lens I ever bought.

Edit-- Thought about it alot after posting and traded in my 70-200L and 100L for another 85L II.
I'm very happy again :D:D:D I love my 85L!!!

I rent the 70-200 f/2.8 IS I for 80% of my shoots. Will be purchasing anytime now. Next on the list is the 16-35 though I haven't shot with it yet!

I looooove the 100mm f/2.8 macro (non L). The portraits come out crisp and sharp and the macro stuff is always exciting. Even for other shots that I take with the other lenses, I always wonder if I can use the 100mm here...

The one I love the most is the 300mm 2.8 IS...It is just SO much fun!! If I could use it for everything, I would! I am fixing to pair it up with the MKIV, so I hope it will be even more fun :-)

The lens I use the most is the 24-70.

All my lenses are...

All my lenses are the best lenses for the purpose for which I bought them. A HINT... buy top-line lenses and you don't have to internalize over which one is better.

One top-line lens is worth a dozen mediocre ones...

The 45mm f2 Zeiss lens for my Contax G2.

For Canon, the EF-S 60 f2.8.

For all those lauding the merits of their zooms for portraits, you have to try the 60 macro, if you have an APS body.
