Might be old news, but whatever. ![]() Uh, no. The only way to get 8 FPS all the time, even with the appropriate custom function settings, is to have the Continuous Shooting-High drive mode selected. You can't get 8 FPS in any of the other drive modes.

So while having servo running while focusing is great, it CAN lead to one lost shot in the middle which kills a sequence anyway. You can't get 8 FPS in any of the other drive modes. there's an issue with the 7D where it doesn't give you 8fps even in H mode though. The OP is suggesting it's because the camera is slowing the FPS to only take in focus shots -vs- ripping along at full FPS but maybe turning in an OOF shot. While that's ONE reason, even with the focus set to manual a 7D will drop below 8fps at times, so it's not JUST AF issues. The other reason is the meter apparently. Turn it to M and MF and you get 8fps 100% of the time (with it set to H obviously). My Gear List
