And the fine print says...(drum roll, please)...

"While Walmart.com strives to provide accurate pricing information, pricing or typographical errors may occur. Walmart.com cannot confirm the price of an item until after you order. In the event that an item is listed at an incorrect price due to an error in pricing, Walmart.com shall have the right, at Walmart.com's sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any orders placed for that item. In the event that an item is mispriced, Walmart.com may, at Walmart.com's discretion, either contact you for instructions or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation. "

This could work if you get an idiot employee who doesn't know crap about camera lenses.

Based on previous experiences with a WalMart.com price screwup... they will cancel your order and give you a $10 gift card you can use at WalMart.com.

That's what I'm thinking too since they do happen to offer the correct 50mm also on their web site with the $1,500 price. Very doubtful they'll honor the $230 price.

I'm very tempted to pull the trigger as well for the heck of it.

EDIT: I placed a ordered. Worse comes to worse, I will show them my print out and throw a fit in stores.

i think worse comes to worse is you make yourself look like a fool arguing and throwing a fit for something you knew was wrong when you ordered it...

that's not the L lens on the website...it's the 50mm compact macro...and that price is wrong for it too...

This reminds me of a price mistake dell.com had a few years ago. They had the 100-400L and the 75-300mm mixed up. Those that placed an order had them cancelled, but most of them had a small credit given for future purchases as a consolation.

The confirmation email from Wal-mart only mentions the 1.2, and has the 1.2 product code specifically listed. It will be interesting to see what happens, though doubtless the sudden spike in orders is already causing their system to request human intervention to ensure no mistake was made.

 Dang I didn't notice that.

Things are all screwed up because that 50mm lens 2537A003 is typically under the $300 range and yet they're listing it for $1,500. I feel sorry for the person who orders the 2537A003 from Walmart and then tries to get Walmart to credit them the lower price.

Order the lens 100 times and you will get $1k worth of gift cards. :)

Every time I see one of these threads it makes me curious. If you go to the bank and cash a $500 check and get $600 back from the bank what do you do?

Is a retailer posting the wrong price much different than a teller or cashier or whomever making a mistake and giving you too much cash?

If you are asking what an ethical person would do, I think even the Pope approves of screwing Walmart.

Gah, Im so torn on trying this. I would totally do it with 1 day shipping, just to try to get it really quickly in case it is the 50 1.2 .... but its SO unlikely...

EDIT: Couldn't resist, I tried it. Maybe the person packing it will glance at the title, grab a 50 1.2 and ship it out.

If I had the cash to spare I would try it as well. Worse case scenario they would tell me they made a mistake or ship me the 55-250 pictured instead?
