Ok, I just assumed that since my new Rebel T1i has an optical view finder that I could use that to record video. Boy, was I disappointed.

I want to video a flying model airplane. With the sun at my back, the Live View is washed out. I ended up with video of the sky and ground only!! Is there some way to override this or someway to use the Live View in sunlight-- or, do I need one of those old fashioned cloth hoods like photographers used a century ago?!!

Don't people who design cameras take pictures in the sun?
