Out of all the forms of online communication, I find twitter to be really self-pretentious..
It isn't the case with all people who use it but definitely the majority. Who gives an arse?

It's funny how self important people can be.

Indeed, but hard to keep up with people in Perth and overseas on a daily basis if it's face to face.

I have no need to keep in touch with my national (outside of Sydney) or international friends on a daily basis. They certainly don't care that "I'm clean shaven looking **** hot and ready for work".

People use Twitter stupidly, very often. Having said that, I find it very useful with work.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

You may not, but I do :)

I keep up with friends all over the world every single day. A core group and I talk one way or another at least six out of seven days and usually it's seven. A larger circle and I chat usually once a week or so.

Social media doesn't rule my life but it has let me reconnect with people that I wasn't taking the time to keep in touch with, had lost touch with or who aren't good letter writers and it lets me keep in closer contact with them. I like the day to day things I see :D

Obviously there are some that are just obsessed or endlessly dribble on, but <shrug> who cares what other people do? If they enjoy, good on 'em, I say. I do what works for me.

Amen to that and I'm in the non-twitter, non-facebook camp. Not against them, just have no need for them, so never felt inclined to get involved.

My cave is just the way I like it too...and caves don't have Windows either :p:p:p:p

I'm still here  I've never been interested in Twitter at all, I don't see the point of it for me compared to Facebook, where more people I know have it and can easily comment on things.

Tax-time. Bought the 135L for street shooting and here are some virgin shots from the (awesome) new glass. Everything is sweet, except for the 5D's AF which made me miss a few shots which would have been good.

I can't say that I'm enamored with it but I have a couple of friends that use it a lot and it's the best way for us to keep in touch it seems :) And sometimes there are some interesting things posted LOL

I'm much more of a twitter person than a facebook person.

In fact, twitter really came in to it's own on the night of the long knives in Canberra recently. Fascinating, up to the second information, and some very funny witticisms as well.

I'd heard recently from a friend in Townsville that Tweetdeck colour/fonts were stuffed in the latest update (background and text same colour). Interestingly tweetdeck on the iPhone is fine, but I use Echofon on the PC.

Give enough people any tool and some will use it stupidly. I'm sure if you issued 1000 people hammers, at least 10% would hit themselves in the head with them.

@ Col, #3 is a cracker. Really like that one.

The guy in the last one looks like a bruiser...
