^^^ the converses with that outfit are just awesome! you got a keeper there brother.

can anyone tell me why i dont have this lens yet? LOL! i mean i cant think of any reason at this point to not have this lens in my bag other then the fact that it is kind of close in focal length to my 100L.... then again this lens is a full stop and a third faster.

Not sure if i should wait for the Sigma at this point or not.

How do most of you folks using LightRoom correct purple fringing that happens with this lens from time to time.

You can get a little closer then with your 100mm. For crop I think 85mm is quite nice (although it took me a while to see it's potential.) I say get it now.. it's half the price of the Sigma and it's awsome. If you still want faster/better then get the Sigma.

I don't notice all the purple fringing that people talk about. But with LR3 you can do lens correction, I don't know if this fixes that at all or not..

Kidding aside, it only happens when shooting high contrast images like this one...

Just got this lens today and it`s darn fast and sharp!

There aren't any reviews of the Sigma yet so if it's a bad lens you have wasted 6 months of waiting. Better get the 85/1.8 now and sell it if you need to upgrade later. As for purple fringing, I have noticed it on both 35L and 135L when I did some focus tests. It's easy to fix in Lightroom so nothing I would worry about.

I agree, if I can get sharpness, good build quality, amazing AF for a good price, I really don't care about the purple frining. It's easily fixed compared to fixing lack of sharpness for instance. I love this lens :D
