This jaguar was behind a wall. I guess it qualifies as a zoo pic. :)

When I scrolled down to your post, I was thinking "My goodness...his zoo animals look exactly like our local zoo animals. Then I saw where you lived and realized they ARE the same ones, LOL!

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

MY weapon of choice: Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L + 1.4 teleconverter (teleconverter attached pretty much the whole time).

I've now upgraded this setup to the 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2 where I expect to be using the 2*teleconverter a lot more - I still think for most zoo work the 1.4 is enough, but there are times when you want a bit more reach out to 400mm for some of the larger pens or smaller, more shy animals.

Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too
