Morning folks!

This year we had pretty favorable (if hot...) weather for getting some GREAT photos at the Dayton Air Show. I got some pretty nice pics - have a look:

dang you had nice clear skies. I had to go sunday (only day off) and it started raining halfway through the Blue Angels show. Needless to say I wasnt too happy. Still a good show, and it was nice seeing them this year. Good pics! I still havent been able to go through what I have. Hopefully Ive got some good stuff.

Well, you got the C-17 as a Sunday-only performance. Grrrrr..... We had to settle for the 300 MPH school bus.

It wasn't exactly in an ideal location relative to the crowd.....it looked very small.

Great pics. I was there Saturday also and was in the "Photo Pit" section. Unfortunately they decided to put a speaker tower right in front of the pit so that ended up in about 20% of my shots.

I'm very new to photography and have absolutely never tried to do any aircraft photography. To say it was a bit of a challenge is an understatement. I took about 3800 pics and am sure I have some "keepers" in there but need to sort through them. Hopefully I have some that turn out as well as yours did.

Wow. I took 550 pics and thought that was a lot. I got NO pictures of any of the static planes though as I got there right before the show started.

I have tons of pics of speakers, people's heads, cars on the ground (they really should park the cars away from the planes) and some pics of flags as well (although a couple came out pretty cool with the flag).

Part of the deal with the photo tour was that we got started at 7am before everyone got there. We did a walking tour through all of the static aircraft and also got to walk out on the runway and get up close and personal with Fat Albert, Blue Angel #6, and a few of the other planes that were demo'd later. I'd say I probably went through 1000 photos during those first 2 hours.

Overall I know I took a ton of pics but I just couldnt stop, I was having a blast.

Great set of photos. I was there saturday, and sunday. I am just now going through what I shot those days. The person I was with had one of those digital pedometers. It claimed the distance from general admission parking to right beside the photo pit to be 1.3 miles. How accurate it is I dont know.

Next year I want to do the photo pit.

I love the Wright replica, I've never actually seen one of those at a show, thanks for sharing (the shots are great as well, obviously).
