hahahahah #8 is hilarious! On a more serious note, #1 is the only one that really catches my eye. The rest are only snapshot worthy imho.

PS: these kids should really be wearing shin guards and gloves at the very least. I've done my fair share of downhill mtn biking and it can be pretty nasty if you bail and tear up a shin, elbow...etc.

The first 2 have great DOF, but then it starts to diminish, and the background in focus becomes a little distracting. Try some different shots, angles, framing etc. Mix it up a little. Man the face of #8 is priceless.

I shot this jump from a few angles ,I thought the ones I posted had the least distracting of the backgrounds available for this jump . I was more vunerable to having one the riders landing on me from the vantage point I had of the following photos , I also thought my lens and I were becoming a hazard to these young riders who may have been trying to catch bigger air than their exprience should allow in the hopes of trying to leave an impression on the photographer .....the vantage point I was using in the previous photos
had me some what out of view of the riders until their speed had already been determined

QUOTED IMAGE

IMO this is a great shot. The front rider in focus, and a couple riders trailing just out of focus. Lighting looks great. and the first rider is colorful.

Superb series. The facial expressions mark their concentration levels.

And #8 is worthy of so many cpations.

Lol at #2, doesn't even look like he can reach the breaks. I'm also a bit curious how the landing went.

The photos were taken at Canada Olymipc Park, site of the 1988 Winter Olympics,
It's located only 5 minutes from my home .Here are some other photos that I have taken at C.O.P. in the last year
