Tonite, I wanted to test low noise performance. I don't wonna to compare these results with latest camera models, but still...I's quite good. I would NEVER EVER get such results on My Nikon D90.

Shots done in the room lighted with 45W energy saving lamp (basically it's nothing)
ISO 1600, Shutter 1/30 (!!!! weight of the camera allows to shoot at this speed) ap. 2.8

Just conversion from RAW, we have noise but it's not that bad

Fairynough! As long as it works! TBH I just used the standard "refresh" mode with the standard charger (1DIIN) and it seems to have worked (for now).

Good to see that the Canon chargers refresh works. I have never got the feeling that it did anything to my bad battery. On the other side my good battery is still very good after two or three years use - so I thought it was good enough to keep a good battery good, but not good enough to repair an already "broken" battery. If the Canon charger managed to refresh your battery - it is far the simplest and fastest way to do it.

I used it as a project to learn something about batteries and I found it interesting doing it. If you count the hours I used on my battery - it is far more cheaper to just buy a new Canon battery :)

SeattleSpeedster: nice shot ! - I wouldn't suspect any focus problems there either.

Just bought a 14mm f2,8L lens for my 1Ds Mark II. It is the mark 1 version, but i got it for 2500 norwegian kroner (approx. 400 US dollars). Any tips and tricks regarding the use of this lens?

regards

Three practical tips for the 14L

1 - Keep your camera level to avoid keystone distortion

2 - As the field of view is insanely wide, try to have lots of interesting content to fill up the frame!

3 - The corners are soft even stopped down, so try to avoid framing shots where the corner detail is critical to the composition.

And congrats! I have the 14L MkII and really love it!

Cheers!

:D Cool! I did a double take here. It certainly got my attention. Interestingly, it is no less impressive knowing how it is mirrored. Very good eye.
