I hear everything while I am photographing, even composing... I don't know but I hear and even notice those around me (or at least I think I do).

Well yeah, I hear pretty much around me too, but even though I'm hearing it, I'm not really hearing it.

If one starts to talk to me I hear that too, I know what they're saying but it somehow doesn't arrive completely. But once I'm done doing my thing I am able to continue the conversation :P

My wife always gets after me for not talking when we're on hikes and I have my camera. Luckily we usually hike with friends, so at least she has SOMEONE to talk with.

oh yes...you don't grasp/understand everything I guess, I am aware but seems like I don't care about what is happening until I am done.. hehe

While out photographing birds, me with the 500 and another gentleman with the 800, another photography asked if we were working for a magazine and before I could respond the other gentleman said "no we are just crazy". We all just laughed and concurred.

This past weekend at a wedding reception I got two noteworthy comments while wearing my Dual Rapid Strap with a 7D & 18-55 on my right and a 40D with a 70-200 on my left:

From a soldier who came home recently: "Dude, You're carrying as much gear as I did in Iraq!"

From a random drunk guest: "Look Honey, He has TWO BIG BOY cameras!!"

The baseball team I've been shooting for had a night game over the weekend and since I don't have a low-light sports lens I decided to take the nifty fifty for some candids of the players in the dugout. One of the coaches said "why don't you have your big white lens?", meaning the 70-200mm, and I said "because it's a night game so it's really dark" and the coach replied "I would ask what that has to do with anything but I think the answer would make my brain explode." That saved me a lot of explaining.

Seriously though, a flash bracket will get just as much respect. You can walk through a crowd and people will back out of your way as though you were a policeman with a .45 strapped to your belt. I think it's the sync cord that people find most impressive.

I gess I´ll try to keep that one in mind, next saturday when Im walking in the middle of the medieval fair here in portugal. It should be nice...
