Will I love my 50 1.4 more on a 5DII?

What a great decision. Everyone who owns a full frame should have the 135mm 2.0. Its an absolutely perfect combination!

+ 1 + 2 + 3!! :)

Now who would have guessed that? ;) I know I have a very common Dutch name. I'm from Flanders though, Belgium.

I would have guessed the same if I hadn't seen your name. It's your picture, you just look... well.. Dutch! :D Oh well, not quite but close! ;)

The only differences will be that your framing will be wider (allowing the 50mm to be more of an everyday) lens, and that at f1.4 you will get even a thinner DOF than on a crop. If you need a DOF as thin as a sheet of paper, then that is great! :)

Els,

I have had my 5DM2 for several months, but just purchased a 135L. You will love the combination. There's a thread on the lens forum (see link below). Enjoy your Mark II and 135L

And here I was thinking there are no such things as stupid questions, but since your a native Belgian I can't blame you!

Hmmm... Not sure what to make of that comment either... I hope you're not trying to say that Belgians = stupid? Because that would say a lot more about you than about us. Anyhow, I'm sure you only meant it as a joke, so I guess that makes it alright then...

Sounds great to me! :)

I was only joking, I don't know at what age you went to Australia but I'm sure you know the whole The Netherlands/Belgium concept of jokes!?

I'm sorry I got offended so quickly. Not all Dutch/Belgian people make these jokes lightheartedly and I've come across plenty of Dutch people belittling the Flemish at every opportunity they get, so that's why I got defensive. Sorry! And I moved here only five years ago, I was 28, so I'm still very Belgian at heart :)

Back to topic! One more sleep and my 5dII arrives :)

maybe you'll hate it more because it's slightly wider. maybe you'll opt for the 85L II or the 85mm f1.8 just to keep that same FOV but on an FF.

Right now, I just love my 135 2.0 on my 5DII. Before I use big time the 85 1.8 on the 20D, that is almost the same (1.6 *85 = 136 )
I also got the 50 1.4, but I don't use it much.
But it is so different what focal length, that suits you.

Right now I use 15 fish, 24-105, 135 2.0, 100-400 the most !
